Antiparasitic endectocide indicated for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites. Ready to use sterile injectable solution.
Composition
- Ivermectin 1,0 g
- Excipients csp. 100.0 mL
General Description
Its active principle (Ivermectin) is a molecule belonging to the Avermectin family, isolated from the fermentation of Streptomyces avermitilis, known for its powerful parasiticide action and broad spectrum, both against internal parasites (round worms), and external ones (scabies, lice and other mites and insects). The action of Ivermectin is located at the level of the nerve endings themselves or in the contact zone between a nerve fiber and a muscle fiber.
Ivermectin stimulates the massive release at this level of a chemical compound, Gamma Aminobutyric Acid or GABA, which acts as a neurotransmitter. The presence of large quantities of GABA at the synaptic level leads to a total blockage of the specific receptors located at the nerve endings, which produces the interruption of the parasite’s nerve impulses and consequently its death by paralysis. This original mode of action is specific to Ivermectin and distinguishes it from the other families of antiparasitic substances.
