Bacteriostatic Antibiotic / Slotted Tablets

VETERINARY USE
CLINDEX tablets, is a semi-synthetic antibiotic (derived from Lincomycin and obtained by substituting 7 (s)-chlorine of the hydroxyl group -7 (R) of the natural antibiotic produced by Streptomyces lincomensis var lincomensis).
INDICATIONS
In dogs it is indicated in wounds, abscesses, osteomyelitis, superficial and deep pyodermitis, toxoplasmosis, dental infections and in all those infections produced by anaerobic microorganisms sensitive to drugs, and in Gram+ microorganisms resistant to penicillins and cephalosporins.
In cats it is indicated in wounds, abscesses, toxoplasmosis, infections of the oral cavity and teeth and in all those infections produced by microorganisms sensitive to clindamycin.
Sensitive microorganisms:
Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Nocardia, Erysipelothrix, Toxoplasma and Mycoplasma sp., Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, Pasteurella, Clostridium perfringes, C. Tetani, Bacteroides, Fusobacterium, Peptococcus.
POSOLOGY
Dogs:
Abscesses, infected wounds, infections of the oral cavity and teeth: 5.5 mg/kg every 12 hours for 7 to 10 days.
Superficial pyodermias: 5.5 mg/kg each 12 hs during 21 days.
Deep pyodermias: 11 mg/kg once a day during 45 days.
Osteomyelitis: 11 mg/kg every 12 hs during 28-30 days.
Toxoplasmosis: 10 to 40 mg/kg/day divided into 2 daily intakes, during 14 days.
Cats:
Abscesses, infected wounds, infections of the oral cavity and teeth: 5.5 mg/kg every 12 hours for 7 to 10 days.
Toxoplasmosis: 40 mg/kg/day divided in 2 daily intakes, during 14 days.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
Do not ingest. Verify that the inviolability system of the product and the storage conditions prior to use are adequate, as well as that it has not expired in reference to the expiration date expressed on the label. Verify that the product is administered exclusively by the means declared herein. Do not exceed the doses proposed on the label.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer in animals hypersensitive to Lincomycin or clindamycin. Do not administer in rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, horses and ruminants because it can cause serious gastrointestinal effects. Use with caution in animals with severe renal disorders or liver disease, being convenient to monitor serum levels of clindamycin in prolonged therapies. Safety during pregnancy has not been established. It may cause anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea especially at high doses. Use with caution in cats with pulmonary toxoplasmosis. Clindamycin and erythromycin, present parallel resistances. Partial cross-resistance has been demonstrated between clindamycin, erythromycin and macrolide antibiotics. Clindamycin has neuromuscular blocking activity, therefore, use with caution when concomitant treatment with other neuromuscular blocking agents is performed.

Every 400 grams of clindamycin hydrochloride is equivalent to 368.35 grams of clindamycin base. Each 150 grams of clindamycin hydrochloride is equivalent to 138.13 grams of clindamycin base. Each 50 grams of clindamycin hydrochloride is equivalent to 46.04 grams of clindamycin base.
Store between 4 and 30°C in the original sales container. Keep out of the reach of children.
The doses and warnings suggested in all cases are to be considered by the acting veterinarian.
The containers must be destroyed once used and placed in appropriate containers, which are collected by the corresponding entity. The packaging will then be classified and recycled for specific reuses by specialized companies.
